How to Pray Peace Over Your Finances - Part 3 of 3

Source: Praying Peace by Bob Lotich

1 Peter 5:7 offers us such an amazing invitation and promise: "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

In case you need to be reminded, this includes our financial anxieties.

God isn't distant or uninterested in our money matters - He cares deeply about every aspect of our lives.

And similarly, Psalm 55:22 encourages us to:

"Cast your cares on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken."

When we pray our financial worries over to God, we're not just venting - we're entrusting them to the One who can truly sustain us.

And then finally, Jesus extends yet another beautiful invitation in Matthew 11:28-30:

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

If financial stress has left you weary, this invitation is for you.

Today, let's practice casting our financial cares on God. Let’s find a quiet place and imagine ourselves literally handing over our money worries to Jesus.

As we do, let’s express our trust in His care and ask for His peace to fill us.

Next, take some time to listen.

Ask God if there are any steps He wants you to take regarding your finances. Perhaps it's to seek advice, to be more generous, or to make a change in your spending habits. Write down any impressions you receive.

As we embrace this practice of surrender, let's remember that God's faithfulness never wavers.

He is eager to lift our burdens and fill us with His peace.

By entrusting our financial concerns to Him, we make room for His guidance and provision in our lives. Let's walk forward with confidence, knowing that we are not alone—He is with us every step of the way.

Let’s pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come before You, casting all my financial anxieties into Your loving hands. Thank You for caring so deeply about every detail of my life. I trust that You will sustain me and that I will not be shaken because You are my foundation. Please grant me the rest You have promised to those who are weary and burdened.

Speak to my heart, Lord. Show me any steps You want me to take with my finances. Whether it's seeking wise counsel, practicing generosity, or adjusting my spending habits, I am open to Your guidance. Fill me with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and help me to rely on Your strength each day.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
