How to Pray Peace Over Your Finances - Part 2 of 3

Source: Praying Peace by Bob Lotich

Hey Friend!

Today, let's consider Jesus' words in Matthew 6:31-33:

"So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

This passage is such a strong reminder of the obvious… that God is fully aware of our needs.

So when we pray for financial peace, we're not informing God of something He doesn't know.

Instead, we're aligning our hearts with His priorities and trusting in His provision.

Proverbs 3:5-6 echoes this:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

But what about when answers don't come immediately?

Sometimes, financial peace comes through immediate provision. Other times, it comes through patient endurance and gradual change.

So today, let's practice praying with both trust and patience.

We can start by thanking God for His faithfulness in our lives so far. Then, let’s bring our financial needs to Him, expressing our trust in His timing and wisdom.

If you feel anxious, that's okay - share those feelings with God too!

As you pray, listen for any nudges or ideas God might be giving you. Sometimes, He provides peace by showing us practical steps we can take. Other times, He simply reassures us of His presence and care.

Let’s pray:

Father, I come to You today with a heart full of gratitude for Your unwavering faithfulness in my life. Thank You for knowing my needs even before I voice them. I choose to seek first Your kingdom and righteousness, trusting that You will provide everything I need.

Lord, I confess that I sometimes feel anxious about my finances. I lay these worries at Your feet, knowing that You care for me. Help me not to lean on my own understanding but to trust You with all my heart. Guide me in the paths I should take and grant me the patience to wait on Your perfect timing.

If there are steps You want me to take, please make them clear to me. Open my ears to hear Your guidance and my heart to follow Your lead. Whether You bring immediate provision or gradual change, I trust that You are working for my good.

Thank You for Your constant presence and the peace that comes from knowing You are in control. Strengthen my faith as I continue to rely on You.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
